Once again, Missy T was upstairs on the bed.
Last night she came in (where my writing computer is) to Chesapeake's Room. Could definitely tell she was still expecting Chessie Bear to be in there.
Went in behind the corner bookshelf, where Chessie liked to nap, came back out real quick like she encountered someone. She left the room and would just sit in the doorway after that.
That's such a cute thing to see with the crossed paws. Akira does that some of the time, too, and it's really cute to see. Plus, with Miss Teia, knowing that what kind of life she has now makes up for so much she suffered in the past before loving humans took her in. Now she is treated the way cats are supposed to be treated and is a really happy little lady for it.
Nothing says cute like a kitty that likes to cross his or her paws. One of our cats is grey with white front mitts, making his feet more prominent. (You can see him in my pics.) He does the cross-paw routine, and looks comical and dignified all at once.
Glad to hear Teia has come into her own.
Come home from work about 10 minutes ago, no Miss Teia coming from her usual spot in the living room to greet me at the door.
Walk around the main floor, not in her alternate spots.
Go upstairs...laying on the bed, paws crossed all lady-like...
Definitely Queen of the House now.
All this talk of puppy pads, I think I'll replace this heavy litter box that Jade never uses (or we have room for), with a puppy pad that can be picked up off the floor when she's outside during the day.
Breaks my heart to read of Teia's past abuse. But she is happy and healthy now, and probably better emotionally than she's ever been in her entire life.
We had almost an hour Outside today, she's so exciting to watch while she's napping. ;)
Poor baby. But it is a rather comical image. I knew a cat with only three legs, and his family named him Hopalong.
...and I have been considering making bigger litter pans as was described above. Lower front threshold to make it easier for Missy T and her double front leg limp.
We think part of the abuse she suffered before George (her previous human) rescued her from the neighborhood kids was having both shoulders dislocated.
If y'all remember the way the bulldog in the Tweety Bird cartoons walked, that's Teia.
The vinyl sheeting I put down is called shower pan liner, about 1/16 inch thick. Got it at Lowe's where I work, but any home center or plumbing supply house will have it.
I use those tall totes as well, neither of my boys squat to pee they need TALL sides......plus the huge savings with this much cheaper option.
Glad you mentioned this Annie, for everyone to read:)
I'm going to try some piddle pads for Nemo, he just doesn't over shoot his box he purposely uses inappropriate spots at times
Good tips!!!
My sister had a cat who was none too accurate with the litterbox edge, and she got one of those plastic tubs they sell for people to use for storage in the attic, and cut a door out of it leaving a lip to keep the litter in, and uses it for a litter box. The tall sides (as tall as kitty's ears when kitty is standing, at least) keep any accidents in, and the whole tub (including the lid, which of course is not needed) was about $6.99. I liked the idea well enough to copy it, had gotten tired of spending $25 for cat boxes. :)
Nice to know Teia is embracing the space.
Yes, regular puppy training pads. I got the Petco "generic" ones plus a tray made to hold them with a clip in each corner.
Awesome Teia's!!!!!
Tell me more about these piddle pads, like the ones for indoor dogs? I wonder if my Nemo would use one(?)
