Recently I have had some false alarms with regards to the Meezes' health! I have lost my mind , but she is just fine!
No need to go into the gory details of my dementia, but I have learned one important lesson to pass on to my friends here.

Whenever anyone asks for a great cat food "I" always chime in with my 2 cents worth (which is what it was worth) about how wonderful WERUVA cat food is. Well no wonder it is so loaded with carbs of course cats will love it.'
So I Now want to suggest use WERUVA ONLY when you need to put weight on your cat or they are not eating. A steady diet of this will case bouts of pancreatitis and high glucose, and possibly diabetes.
This is what it did for my Meez.

Better to go with High protein low carb diet (like Weruva BFF brand), and NO dry food. Avoderm is another brand (if you can find it) with the High protein/low carb.

Just when you thing you have some reliable and helpful info to pass on to the poster here, you get hit in the head with the stupid stick......and OPUS say's I told you so! She has the right idea.

****This is serious -----we love our babies and want nothing but the best for them, but they train us when it comes to what they WANT to eat as opposed to what they SHOULD eat. Don't be like me and give them anything their little heart desires----most of the time that will only harm vital organs like kidney, spleen, and liver.

Oh my....you certainly aren't stupid my friend. We have all fallen prey to things we are told, both for ourselves and our pets, and much of it is so deliberately deceiving.

Geez I'm no different, until just afew years ago I didn't know any better either. I think back so often on my Opus and my other kitties that died prematurely because of the diet 'I' fed them, the junk that passes as pet food. Dry food being the absolute worst

And Jade, when you read the labels fancy feast isn't so bad....in fact two of mine are on it....I've given up trying the better brands. BUT I am strict in NOT giving them the heavy carb laden gravy or shredded tire types...stay to the  classic or pate and they are actually acceptable.

Excellent post, C.  But, please, don't be so hard on yourself.  You are not 'stupid', you just didn't know.  Until I found this forum, I had no idea about cat food either.  Which was why Jade ate Fancy Feast 'til the day she passed.  I couldn't get her off it.  It wasn't the worst food, but certainly nowhere near the best.  I can't tell you how many times I wished I'd found this forum before taking her in in 2006.  I would of done things so differently.  I WAS able to stop the hard food though after learning how bad it was for her.  And after a bout of crystals!  Stopped the treats too.  Those are nothing but 'junk food'.

So now 'we' know. :)  

I hope Meezy is feeling better?
