My Cat 'hugs' Me

My cat Obby,is a year old. I've noticed that if i pet under his chin he will wrap his paws around my hand fairley tightly and not let go and rest his chin on top and go to sleep.He also licks me alot.
I'm just wondering if this is normal and what my cat means by it (:

My Sativa cleans moisturizer off  of me too!  and if I've been working out/sweating......I get the most thorough bathing.

My cat hugs as well.  He hugs me around the neck a lot and I carry him until my arms ache!  He also curls his paws around my fingers and goes to sleep when we watch TV.  He licks a lot also particularly if I have on lotion or moisturizer.  He tries to groom me to get rid of it.  He loves to lick my husband because he is always salty.  I think they just groom people they love.  I have seen cats who lived together do it to each other or even to dogs.  Enjoy your hugger!

I had one cat that would wrap her arms around my neck as in a hug when I had her on my chest.  A male cat I have now has come close to that.  My female cat will also wrap herself around my arms while in the bed.  

You have an affectionate and loving cat!  Completely normal!!!

It mean your cat loves you.  Mine will wrap his paws around my neck and rub his face in my hair.  When they love you they just want body contact.  Licking you is another sign that he loves you; they don't do that to just anyone!
