the only way to have an animal tested for rabies is to have them put down first than the tests are conducted on their brains....so not a good idea. Given this cat is a house pet and not feral and has been vaccinated there is a very low probability of rabies...
I would reconfirm all this once again with the owner, and if your still worried seek another doctors opinion.
Also from what I've read signs of rabies in a human don't show up the same day, its takes weeks to develop. However a cat bite can become infected quickly...if theres any redness or swelling she will need an antibiotic..
Always check with your doctor if you are concerned and not rely on the internet for a diagnosis.....♥
if a cat has rabbies there is a chance it will distance itself from you but then it can become very violent id have the cat tested first and if it does have rabbies it needs to be put down and your child will need 11 shots in its belly but it doesnt sound so serious so im sure it will be alright good luck ^.^
Well, rabies shots come in either one year or three year doses in the state where I live. Did the cat get a shot that was good for one year?
You are worried- please take your daughter to the doctor and ask for testing! I think a negative result would sure help relieve your concern.
