Both are too much expensive for me - girls keep eating a National Brand, average quality.Mercifully they are doing well, no allergies and co...
Btw, I do prefer Loreena eating chicken than meat - meat seens to cause her to be a little "wild" ...If possible I always get fish flavoured stuff - there's no chance of she grabbing real fish by itself...
She loves chicken - real one.
I will read the links later on,tks.
I will send you a couple sites that give a review on both Royal Canin and Pro Plan....they are pretty similar, HIGH in grain and carbs....lots of fillers in place of more meat.
if the Pro Plan is cheaper for you....its no worse than Royal Canin and in some ways maybe better because at least the FIRST ingredient on the bag is real meat NOT chicken meal.....
read the reviews....there are not many real good dry foods, but if at all possible find one that has NO grains...and lists MEAT as the first and second ingredient...NOT meal and NOT by-products...
grains are just CHEAP fillers...and cause allergies and weight gain but add NO nutrition at all for a cat.

I've forgot about PROPLAN - its this good or I better pack to move from USA when kids get older???
From Four Paws, just got it:
"FOUR PAWS would like to build a sanctuary for the bears used in the bear baiting in Ukraine. Plans are preliminary at the moment but it’s looking hopeful that we could do this. Royal Canin have decided to support us as per their statement on the issue."

Here its THE TOP TOP - the one sold in the best places and the one EVERYBODY ( vets also) calls " the best a cat can get - give it for them if you could afford - and sorry if you cant..."
I m not sure we could substitute it for another equal - not to mention for something better.Royal Canin is already a quite expensive food - and together with Hills /Science Diet ( that I learned from you at MH is NOT GOOD as well) are the BEST ones you can get on local pet places.
I personally would love to be giving RC to my cats - if it fit on my budget.
My city is an average one- in a rich state -but I dont think the offers can be better in bigger cities. From what I heard from cat folks spread all over the contry,RC is kind of unanimity as Superpremium
Here we are still getting folks to not given "3 reais kibble" ( decent kibble cost about 10 reais here- top ones about 20 or more) to their pet ,spay/neuter then and not allow then to hunting...
Cat's Rights is just recently beeing improved, I guess :-(
I found a site that talked abt this too....sure hope its not true, horrible!!!!
http://www.poisonedpets.com/royal-canin-admits-sponsoring-bear-baiting-events-in-the-ukraine/
Here Royal Canin is sold mainly through Veterinary Clinic's...and it does NOT have a good reputation....too many grains that cause allergies plus now they are changing some ingredients for even worse read this clip..

Hi - here goes a link to a site, sorry its in portuguese, but they mention a international source , an interantional ong by name Four Paws and brings a link to You tube video,
Got all the stuff on cats question part on Yahoo Answers - notoriously a not trustfull place - we do have cat lovers there, but trolls and spammers as well.
I will try look for this ONG.
My main worry is people wondering about " quit buying products'- that would cause troubles for the cats - the food is good and we have not many this way...
I have done a bit of searching but haven't found any references to this distrubing news here....I sure hope its not true, keep us informed if you learn more please...
