This is a darling thread and it made me smile all the way through :) Jade doesn't fetch, but she does lots of other cute things which I'll list another time. Too tired tonight, but man, if you're sad or in a bad mood, all you have to do if you're a cat lover is read a thread like this and you'll cheer right up. IMPOSSIBLE not to be happy while reading such cute and well detailed stories.
I love these stories! You all gave me big grins and great memories.
When Fluffy was much younger and verrrrrrry lively, I had some leftover party favors. He found a small white car that would just fit in his mouth without danger of him swallowing it. He loved it! He'd carry it around, drop it on me or in front of me and meow until I threw it. He'd go tearing after it without regard for his own saftey (like Sami sliding into the wall, lol), and bring it back to do it over again.
He also loved the 3 am version of the game, and new just how to leap on top of me to wake me up to play. He didn't want to take know for an answer, either.
We lost the car at one point, and he looked all over. I found a red one, but the silly boy didn't want to have anything to do with it. I found the white one under the fridge and he was happy again. Then it disappeared for good; I think when I was in a big cleaning mood. He wanted it back!
I went to the party supply store where I originally got the little party favor, but they had stopped selling those little cars. He hasn't fetched since.
He had a new favorite game for a long time; I named it "backscratcher under the blankie". I always put a sheet on top of my bedding so the sheet collects his fur instead of the bed. I was using a bamboo backscratcher one day, and he jumped up on the bed and was all big eyes, watching that backscratcher under my shirt.
I decided to save my back, and put the scratcher under the sheet on the bed, and moved it around. He would chase it around, wild eyed. He's get so excited that sometimes he'd leap off the bed, then come back, stalking his prey. He would chase it around in circles until he was panting and had to quit. It was a great way to get him warn out at bedtime, unless he got a second wind and wanted to go at it again, lol.
oh those stories are so cute!!..Sami always brought those darn pipe cleaners to me during the night when he wanted to 'play' too, no balls yet tho!!
I can't imagine why you wouldn't get up and play at 3 a.m alligator?? do you not want the enhance the creative activities of your kitty?
Rockinhippy...I must admit I've never heard of a cat and a favorite blankie that is special isn't it!!
My fetcher brings toys to bed and bugs me until I wake up and play. Lucy will drop her toy and then jump off the bed and stare at me until I throw it. At 3am fetch with the cat is not on my priority list. I have woken up to toys in bed with me- apparently she didn't get me awake or I didn't remember. Sometimes she just crashes on the bed when she's done with her solo playing.
I also have a beanie stealer. I got Oliver a stuffed kitty when he was little- It was almost as big as he was. :) He's not allowed to have it any more. He likes to haul it around the house in his mouth and howl. Mainly in the middle of the night. He has never stolen any of my others, but still goes nuts if he sees his kitty.
Brilliant, that made me laugh, its so sweet when they do that, our Roxi is a "fetcher" too, first one we've had that would do that & taught us when she arrived...lol,
I tried with several other of our Cats over the years, as its a game my Mum & Dads Bengal Tom Cat loves,....... that & football...lol
We were a bit puzzled when she came from the Cat Sanctuary with a array of toys, including a stuffed ginger Kitten, & a cat blanket, she spends most of the time tearing around the house either with the blanket or Kitten in her mouth,..... & on picking the Kitten up off the floor one day & throwing at her spot on the Sofa to tidy up, she brought it right back & dropped at my feet...... & its carried on from there,
As you can imagine our 7 yr old Daughter loves this game, especially as Roxi now steals her Beanie toys too.......though not so much when Roxi drops toys on her head whilst still in bed, because how dare Eden sleep when Roxi wants to play....lol
so Abby is a fetcher too...and they say dogs are smarter!! I would argue that statement however must admit NOT in all cases!!
Thought we all needed something on the lighter side! 8-)
hahahahahaa don't they look cute when they fetch? Lol Abby has been fetching since he was a kitten. He taught my dad who then told me all about it that same day when I got home from work. Abby was only 4 months old. I couldn't believe it.
GO SAMI !!!!!!!!!!
Hahahahaha...that's REALLY cute!
You've made me so happy tonight with all sorts of cool news! :)
