My most playful cat is into these plastic coils that look like springs. Not a complicated toy, but something about the way they roll gets him going. He'll bat those across the floor for hours.
I know what you mean.....when they get attached to some particular toy, they will not except a knock off:( one of my former girls had ONE old raggedly mouse she carried around I tried many new ones but she wouldn't even look at them, when the old one finally got lost somehow...she never did take to another mousey...
Hope you can find some old stock somewhere of the 'right' ones...good luck:))
Oh Opus!!!
I bought that just because of the name "daBoyd" as we in N.Y. and N.J would say, LOL! Meezy really loved it. Now she is back to the "standard"
Frankly there are not many toys I have not tried for my little darling! Yikes are they Picky. She is the MOUSE MADAME!!! Loves those furry "tiny" mice that Hartz put out. Believe it or not the company changed to making them without cement in them so the weight is totally different (too light) for my girl. She goes back to the only "Old" ones I still have...that is after I ordered 10 package's of 5 from Hartz--all in the new weight, which is totally wrong ..TOT_AL_LY!!!!! Anyone want some light weight mice??????
If you could have seen her when I gave her the first one....after she batted it around a few times and realized it was a "knock-off", she looked up at me as if to say "SERIOUSLY, you Are kidding Right" God was I embarrassed. Yep Gotta love em!
Such a simple thing, huh? Im glad your boys loved soo much.
Mines like this kind of thing as well, but they just play for a period, not so crazy about ( well, maybe is because their is something improvised...)
The only toys with feathers they have( I kind of avoid those, for real birds safety here) still have those, just lacking some color...
Thats the way cats are, the simpler, the better
Btw, thanks for learning me the expression" went bananas" - I never had heard that. It Can be useful IF I get a job somewhere :-)
We have 5 cats and Da Bird is the most universally liked by our brood! Our youngest cats like to jump up and try to catch it, our middle-aged one likes it when we pull it across the floor so she can stalk/bounce on it. Our senior girl likes it when we wave it more slowly so that she can prance a bit after it.
We have extra replacement attachments and a few wands, since our stronger kitties do eventually destroy this toy, but overall it is well-designed and not that expensive for the use we get out of it.
