Cat nail pulled and stuck out.

The other day had a rather strange accident with my female cat.  She somehow fell off the shelf and got her claw stuck in the door of my vcr.  I heard her yelling and ran to grab her, she was hanging but just that nail.    Once I got her calmed down I looked at her paw.. it was not bleeding and the nail is still attached only it is pulled out and doesn't seem to retract at all.  She is walking around with a slight limp when she steps on the nail.   She seems fine and does not seem to be in pain.   The pad looks good but I'm just worried.  Will the nail fall out?  Will it retract on it's own?  Is there something more I should do?     I will try to add a pic so it makes more sense.    Any help appreciated I want her to be ok.

poor kitty :( she most likely dislocated it...pulled it out of the nail bed. its strange it didn't break off, not sure if this is temporary and if it will retract once again? sorry can't help with that, only a Vet could answer that question. She may need to get it removed b/c even if its not causing her pain it will now easily become hooked on everything.....give it a couple days and watch and see...good luck:)

She is doing ok.  We went last Tuesday and it was getting infected so she is on antibiotics and I take her back this Tuesday to get checked again.  Vet said she probably dislocated the whole toe and we have to see how she does and what we have to do next.  She gets around just fine so the answer might just be removing the nail on that one toe so it never snags and letting her be.  She is an indoor cat so it won't be as dangerous for her.
Thanks for asking about her  :)

Thanks for the help. I am thinking that I will call the vet on Monday and see if they want to see her.  It just makes me nervous and I don't want her to be in any pain or get hurt more.  Maybe if I know what to watch for it will make it easier to help her out.

good point ali......just be sure to only clip the tip and not get into the quick(black core of the nail) or this would bleed and be very painful :(

What about clipping the very end of the claw to blunt it- it might possibly help not catching on everything.  :)
