Vet clinics and the flu virus?.

I have 2 male boys, Toby and Jake. Indoor but have a  30x50 screened pool so they to get a lot of fresh air. Sometimes they fall in chasing lizards and get a good swim!  Just to let your all know that here in south florida we have vets that come to the house. They are listed as "mobile vet service". For some reason its cheaper than taking them to the vet. (The average cost is about $75 per visit and does include some shots and a manicure.)  Maybe because the vet office does more tests than really needed. I started doing this as noticed that they would get the flu everytime i took them there and i believe now that there are a lot of bacteria in the air at clinics. Also it was very stressful on them to leave the house, get packed up in a cage and stuff. It always broke my heart doing this. My boys are very special to me and coming running when they hear my car arriving. Sometimes i get a little nip on the leg when i open the door as are mad for leaving them that day. If you havent tried this type of service i highly recommed giving it a shot.

I know that cats carry the herpes virus. Beener had it a long time ago and he is vaccinated but everytime a new kitty came to the house the new kitty would get the sniffles, sneezing, runny nose and eyes. Regardless of whether the new kitty was vaccinated or not. I noticed that the kittens have a mild cold right now and are sniffling and have runny noses and eyes. They are on amoxi drops and stinky foods. It has been 3 days and they are doing fine,, they also had a fever for a few days Im assuming as they felt rather warm to me. It usually lasts 3-4days,,all of my cats have had it. Only once though.

Well i must say you are a good mom and in know your family is soooo glad you are in their lives, watching and taking care of them. They were drawn to you from nature and i know that they watch you to make sure you are ok also. They know when you are not feeling good and i believe they get just as stressed when we are sick as we when they are.
