Hello, my brother & I took his cat to the vet on Friday hoping to find out why she was so lethargic. They took her into the back to collect the urine sample and when the vet brought her back she asked if we had noticed that she was breathing heavy. We stated that no her breathing had been quite normal. Once we got her home from the vet and out of the carrier my brother fed her along with giving her half a tab of Bayatril which the vet had just prescribed for her UTI. She is a very petite grey cat who currently weighs 6.6 pounds and she is currently on a prescribed dose of 2.5mg Famatodine which she takes daily along with a 5mg Prednisone every other day and which is what should help bring back her appetite & 75mg of lactated ringers given sub-q daily. When my brother went to move her Friday evening she let out such a primal scream that our two male cats came running from other parts of the house. My question after all of this is it possible that she was injured when they retrieved the urine sample which they retrieved by expressing the bladder rather than extracting it with a needle? The answer that my brother got from the vet on Saturday was that we should keep watch and if she was still with us to bring her into the office on Monday or if she took a turn for the worse to take her to an emergency vet ASAP. One of our greatest concerns was that she make it through the Easter holiday weekend since we had lost another cat in the past on Easter Sundaya few years back. Any thoughts on our concern are greatly appreciated.
