Right now Miss Teia is sleeping on the recliner chair and Anita is sitting on a folding camp chair. :)
Glad to hear that Teia is still holding her own. Grooming herself and eating are very good signs. Maybe the thinness is related to kidney or thyroid problems. As you know, both are very manageable.
You've given Teia such a wonderful new lease on life. I'm sure she appreciates it and knows how good she's got it with you and Anita.
Hey Pip.
Sookie and Spike had their annuals very recently. I swear it's harder on us humans than them.
Miss Teia finally has the life she deserves thanks to you & Anita. This is such a beautiful thing.
Buff slays me. What a hoot! He's definitely your wild child.
Cooper is somewhere between the two it seems.
Blessings to a lovely family,
Melinda
Good visit for Teia with Doc Bennett. She is skinnier, just over 7 pounds and signs of aging are showing in eyesight and hearing. Doc continues to be pleased with how ladylike Teia is when being handled by her and the vet tech.
Got a good blood sample, so she'll be able to run a full analysis. May be time for a thyroid medicine. Doc is also happy we're giving Teia a little Miralax every day. Kitty likes it in plain yogurt.
Teia is sociable, grooms herself, has pretty consistent box habits (though sometimes drops a "present"), gets up to and off her chair with no difficulty, eats well, drinks water (loves ice in it, Doc B thinks it helps her see the water level)...she is almost 17 and we really have no idea of her life before us save little bits.
We have tried to give her the life she deserves, and she has reciprocated by being a sweet, loving cat (most of the time, sometimes a little of the feralness comes out).
I'm sorry for her previous people in that they did not spend the effort to see what was inside her all that time (10 years) that they had her.
My cats when young used to rip at a little hole in the screen on the window in a similar fashion to the fabric at the back of the couch. Soon it was bigger, then bigger, then big enough to admit or exit a kitten. I always thought it was funny, spouse was not as amused.
