My cat shakes and is scared of everything

Hi, I have 2 Norwegian Forest cat brothers.  They are both neutered and immunized.  One is a normal cat, other than slightly obese.  My little weigie is different, and I have asked his vet and online and no one knows the answers.  He shake's all day long, well not while he is sleeping.  I am seriously thinking it's his eyes are the problem, but the doc says no.  He pee's on everything, including if a drawer is open, he will pee on clothes too, furniture, carpets, everything that he near.  Some times I know he is aware of his urinating, because he will back his butt up to things other times I know he is completely unaware.  When he was sleeping on our bed, he was asleep and had urinated in his sleep.  My family and this house smell like urine because of this cat.  He has developed extremely red lips and lining of his eyes.  His muscles in his hind legs are wasting away so much that you can put your index finger and thumb together and feel them through where his muscle used to be.  He has stopped eating as much and prefers the once a week wet cat food, but now he doesn't even want that.  He went from a healthy 14 lb.  down to an worrisome 9 lb.  This is a very large breed of cat, so 9 lb. looks anorexic.  I'm worried for him, so here are the symptoms:
-incontinence
-hissing to loving in under 30 sec
-red skin where it used to be pink
-weight loss
-poor nutritional intake
-shaking since he was born
-he is only about to be 2 yrs. old
-he has lost most of his ability balance in the last 7-8 months
plz help my kitty I don't know what's going on and the vet won't help me, she tells me he's fine and will grow out of it, but he is nearly 2.  He's an adult cat, once your an adult you don't grow out anything.  And these symptoms are fairly new with in the last year..........

I'm glad the other vet agreed to examine Peanut.  Re:(private message)  She seems to care about Peanuts' well-belling even more than her bank account or your needs, good sign.

Thanx all for the encouraging advice.........Peanut is scheduled for an exam by another vet.  Initially it was to get euthanized, but I would rather make sure all avenues are checked before saying good bye to my kitty..........

You and your cat are clearly in a very difficult situation.  It seems that this cat has multiple physical problems where one leads to another.  All I can add here is what I would do in this situation.  I would make a one time effort to take the cat to another vet, even if I had to drive to another town, for a general assessment,  Then based on that I would have to make a hard decision.  Basically, I see 3 options.  1)  Euthanize the cat if  he is suffering and low odds of a "cure".  2)  Spend a lot of time and money trying to get to a full and accurate diagnosis and then treatment, knowing that even then that he may not make it.  3)  Accept the current situation and just try to make him as comfortable as possible.

Well, I live in a small town with only 3 vets, one is full of patients and is not taking any new animals, the other is a vet primarily for large animals, of probably the barn yard variety, and then there's the one I take him to, also the most affordable.
I did change his diet to Purina Pro, because it seems to dissolve easier when wet.  He didn't mind the change at all.  That is when he actually eats it.  
I was researching Weegies and found that perhaps he has a breed specific disorder, then when locating the symptoms, he doesn't have it. sigh*
His breathing is normal as well.  Today he was napping behind my legs with me, and the bed all of a sudden got wet and warm.  He had no clue he was peeing at all, and I scared the day lights out of him.  I didn't mean to.  I just want a vet to give me a relaxant for him for the bad days when we all know he's in pain, or the days when he is making the dreadful screams of pain and his legs are stiff.  But I am limited on choices and should go see what I can find online for analgesics, like something oral he can lick off of a spoon. IDK I'm just worried and he has really made an impact on the odor of my family, house, wallet, and heart.........

I think I may have found a similar case on just answer.com  The question is listed under "so confused and sad"  it also has a video I'll message you how to access it as it is not public.  The probable diagnosis is a seizure episode and after viewing the video the pay -for-play vet narrowed down what he thought the cause might be.   That may explain the behavior ,but the  physical symptoms seem to be a whole other problem.  I just went through  this with my Boy ,unfortunately it didn't end well.  Of course your situation is different, but your boy seems to have been in decline for a while, and not eating properly or getting sufficient nutrition even for a few days, can cause liver problems for sure and probably anemia. Fatty liver disease seems possible, thiamine deficiency can cause the balance problems.  I know you're probably upset and I am sorry. I'm not an expert, of course, if you want you can read a post I wrote after I lost my boy; it's on city-data-forums/cats  the thread is- elderly cat can't stop eating-  page 3  my name is leanansidhex on that site. the title is not mine I had only meant to write a small reply.  I probably don't need the info I requested.  If you do reply ,could you tell me what you've been feeding starting April 2010.  Thank you.   You still need to find another vet.  If I could figure out a possible diagnosis and have it seconded by an on- line -vet in less than 5 minutes it probably doesn't say much for the vet you been going to.  I really regret my choices of vets.  We all try so hard, and it doesn't seem fair that such exquisite and kind creatures have to suffer.    Please, for your peace of mind, so you don't beat yourself up later, be sure he isn't having trouble breathing.   If you're not sure have at least that checked by a different vet.  I've had breathing difficulties before and it is a horrible feeling to not be able to get enough air.  You know him better than anyone and I can tell you love him selflessly, he's lucky to have you.

I disagree with your vet....I don't think he's fine and will outgrow it.  It sounds like he has some kind of neurological problem of unknown origin.  Poor Baby!  It sounds like he is getting progressively worse. Did this start around the time you got him neutered? Maybe something happened while he was under anaesthesia. You will have to seek out the opinion of another vet. And soon....my 8-9 mo. old kitten purrs all the time except when he sleeps but I think that's pretty normal.  Your cat shaking like that could have something to do with his temperature being too low, have you checked that?
