I echo all of Cml's words....an I too am very sorry for the loss of your dear kitty
I would look into FHCM.....feline cardiomyopathy, sounds very much like the symptoms as well as the sudden death:(
Usually goes undetected unless an ultrasound or ECG is done
My sympathies
Hi Red,
Firstly know this __YES you did do all YOU could do. We are not Vets, they are the ones we depend on. Sometimes they do not do enough testing to figure out what is really going on. This is what it sounds like happened, The Vet thought it was a simple cold .... When your cat started with neurological symptom's I think a red light should have gone off with your vet and further tests should have been done.
Now you are left not knowing what happened and that is just not right. ........but I cannot tell you how many times this happens.
I , as you, have no idea what happened to our kit and I am so very sorry you had to lose your baby this way. Perhaps if you do some research yourself on the course of events and the symptoms you might come up with some idea of what happened.
I would certainly begin with a consult with your Vet. He should be held responsible for not giving you a reason for her death.
Perhaps it was something that could not have been avoided and her death could not have been avoided....but YOU should have been prepared by knowing having the proper diagnosis
Again, I am so very sorry you had to lose your baby!
Please keep us posted on what you may find out. It may help someone else here.
Sincerely,
CML
