At my wits end!

Sorry, I am not a regular on these Forums.  I was here some time ago (can't find that discussion) asking for advice on what to do about cats coming into my yard using it for a bathroom, particularly the back yard. The dogs eat the cat stools or roll in it, stinks and I was very tired of picking it up daily.  I got a lot of good suggestions, all of which I basically tried and orobably have spent well over $100 now.  We even picked up that ultrasonic repeller from outr Shelter to try.  I think that worked for 2 nights.  My neighbor is still feeding cats!!  I have been trying not to file a complaint fir months!!  Hated to do it, but my husband put tack strip all along the top of the fence and they still walk in it or jump the fence.
Well, finally resorted to using a trap and trapped one of the Black cats the first night.  Husband took it to the Shelter.  We now have a Spay/Neuter/Release program.  Hadn't seen the cat and no more droppings in the back yard.  I was hoping they adopted it out.  Two days ago, I see a Black cat out front but I had been seeing two.  last night, thought I heard a cat jump the fence.  Today, saw a Blackmagain out front.  Husband told me the dog got into a pile in the flower bed this morning!!  I can only assume that this is the same cat they released back here!!  I am ready to rip my hair out.  Nothing left to do but try and trap it again but it may know better now.  I will be calling AC tomorrow and will have to file a complaint.  I am an animal lover but these Ordinances just can force people to trap these animals and take them far away and release them or worse.  No, I would never do that myself.  Maybe AC will tell me if I bring the same cat in again, they will try to find it a home.  Sad and frustrating situation.

I am shocked the pee from the dogs don't keep them away. When I got a dog, the strays avoided my yard all together. Have you looked up cat pheromones? Maybe try using them?

Thanks.  I have tried that, didn't deter at all.  I was using that in the front flower bed where cats go and on my porch where they spray my potted plants.  They hit the other neighbor'so yards too.  I think they go everywhere except at the house that is feeding them!  I have tried Vinegar.  Just too much area to cover.  Some of these cats do actually belong to other neighbors but are allowed to roam outside.  Bet if I had ever let my dogs do that, I would have heard plenty. :-(

It sounds like the cats are eating and sleeping close to your home. I can understand your frustration. Cats hate citrus. Have you considered using lemon oil or lemon juice? This shouldn't damage the grass. I would say vinegar but that likely will do damage.
