Hi Sandy...No it is not recommended that u go to a chiropractor as manipulation of the neck area can do more damage.
Try a heating pad on for 15 mins at a time....or a warm soak in the tub.
Hope this is helpful

Massage did great for me. I was having a real bad time with neck pain for months and my occupational therapist referred me to a masseuse that works with one of the local doctor's offices here, so it was even covered by my insurance.
Another thing...some massage therapists have heard of Chiari and can do some sort of cranial massage.
Massage by a therapist that's trained in massage of people with head trauma/ Chiari is a good thing. Maybe I'm over cautious, but I'd definately find a therapist that has this type of experience. There are certain ways that us Chiarians shouldn't be massaged/ manipulated and it's good to have a therapist that knows to be careful.
Warm compresses are great too. One thing I've learned that's helped too is making sure my warm compress isn't pressing on the back of my head. I had a well meaning relative offer me one of those around the shoulder buckwheat pillows and it made me worse; turns out it was putting pressure where I didn't need it.
thanks i think im going to nix the chiropracter seems like more pain than it's worth.
