Tight chest in water?

My first NS appointment is in a couple weeks but I've tried searching this question and can't get much info. I live on the lake so every summer we spend most of it on and in water, but this summer I've noticed I can't breath well with my chest under water. I can even stand in not as deep water and squat to lower myself into the water straight down (not past my chin) and I can literally feel at the point where my breathing gets harder and the pressure on my chest feels like it's caving in. As soon as I stand back up an inch or two it goes away immediately. But back down and here it comes. Ive never thought of myself as having troubled breathing, but when I think about it I do. As I'm typing, I feel pressure on my chest and here lately it sounds like I'm sighing constantly because I can't get a good deep breath. Once again, realizing things that aren't normal even tho they've been my normal. Does anyway know if this is related to Chiari? Thanks and God Bless❤️

Hi....do you have allergies? I wonder if you might have PND or other sinus issues that could be part of what is going on for you......I have not had that issue and I did swim a lot post op ...the only issue I had was swimming underwater as I don't feel comfortable with it anymore....not sure why....and I swim on my back as it was too much to hold my head up and felt uncomfortable for me.....
I would strongly suggest you see a Dr about this as soon as you can.

My doctor and I have tried almost every sinus/allergy medicine under the book and nothing worked. When we found out I had CM, and read up that being misdiagnosed as sinus disease is commonl, I stopped taking the medicine since it wasn't working anyway. Reason to believe it is probably Chiari related, but will obviously know more in a couple of weeks. Also, talking about taking medicine, I only started about 15 months ago... which is around the time now looking back that things were starting to get progressively worse. Now I don't believe its actual allergies at all because I've also never had the typical signs of allergies: sneezing/itching and watery eyes so It's all just been head issues. Ready to definitely know more next month ;)
