I just want to sleep....

For a week + now.... I am having insane sleep tissues.... It takes me hours to fall asleep... And k always wake up an hour later and are wide awake...

I think I have scared my self with sleep to the point my subconscious wakes me up when i fall in to a deep sleep....

What can i do to sleep?

I've tried everything I can think of..
I cant get comfy also i sit up and lay back often due to "strange feelings" body pains/tingling or just weird.

I can't relax anymore :(

My son asked me what my perfect kitchen would look like, and I said "one that I would never have to go into".  But, I could imagine having servants in there, cleaning up after me, lol.
I'd rather grow food than cook it, and flowers are just the best.

Those are great relaxation ideas!
I'm passionate about gardening, so I imagine the flowers from my catalogs.  It's much cheaper & much less work than actually gardening.   No deer, bugs, slugs, weeds, or drought either!

It could be the position u r laying in, however ur herniation is, it may be more compressed the way u lay and cause this sensation...try diff pillows, add some , try with out, to see which works best.

What do you think the numb is as i doze off? Its like my arms and legs go numb and body heavy. And i jump awake faster than my body reacts so i still feel the "sleepy body" could this be from being over tired?

I might try decorating a dream home tonight!
I just find myself restless and can't keep eyes closed long enough to relax and then start panicking about symptoms again!

I have always had issues with sleep, even post op I have these issues, and I try to go to bed at the same time each night....and I try and think of something relaxing or enjoyable to have my thoughts all good as I go to sleep....

As a child I would start with a undecorated  Christmas tree and slowly I would add lights and the ornaments...to me it was a time of happy memories and I would keep starting over if I got pulled to something else to try and get my mind on something pleasant.,...and to tire myself.,.....I never did finish the tree : )

But, I have had many a night I could not sleep...now I decorate a new home, my ideal place....lol....and it is comforting to walk around in it....and I fall asleep there...

What ever works right?

I am very apprehensive about taking things. Even herbal or vitamins. I will have a scout around for something that may help

Ive tried every herbal remedy out there, but I find that 5mg ofvalium knocks me out if I wake in the middle of the night.  Several years ago, we had a family crisis when it was prescribed to me--I have held onto that Rx!  The only way that I can get them to keep prescribing it is to show that I'm NOT taking it!  I'm not joking.  I also take it when I travel, by car or plane.  Traveling makes me dizzy.
Maybe it's only the U.S. which is so stingy with prescribing it?

Also,  listening to audio books puts me to sleep.

Good luck; insomnia is really an awful symptom.

Sorry to hear you can't sleep well, it is a very very frustrating problem.  Are the strange feelings you describe like restless legs?  I know that can make me crazy.  I think you have to find what works for you!  I try to stay away from caffeine late in the day, no sweets before bed, sometimes a bubble bath will help.  I need a quiet and dark room and sometimes sleepytime tea or peppermint tea will help relax me before bed (decaf).  Over the counter meds seem to help some people or there are herbal options at "natural" stores.  I have not found anything that helps me to sleep well.  I find that exercise helps the most, it  is just a matter of what you are able to do to exercise.  Sometimes sleep is just much harder than it should be!
