PAIN PAIN PAIN

Hi all

Have finally given into this pain after 5 weeks of the most awful pain legs, knees between shoulder blades and lower back and made appointment at Dr's for this afternoon!

Totally exhausted and just no from experience from last bout of pain that this could last weeks more yet. Head pain bearable just feels like its been put in a vice.

At point where im dragging legs around by evening  and dead going to bed, need to get it sorted as go back to work on Wednesday (work in education) so been off for 5 weeks.

Any suggestions of pain meds anyone as worried cos dont really like taking tablets and I also suffer daily with drunken feeling so dont want meds to add to this.

I have very high pain threshold and went through two child births without pain relief, but this has really got a grip on me at the moment.

Thanks
Niki x x

Hi...u want to use an anti inflammatory of some kind.....we do have a list of foods that can do this for u as well as NSAIDS....but, they can cause tinnitus. The list is in the Health Pages....
http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?cid=186

A heating pad ...or a warm soak in the tub can really help as well as relaxing in a darken room with ur favorite scent, and soft music....

Posture is one thing the NL at TCI said can help with pain...we tend to carry ourselves diff bcuz of the pain and it only exacerbates it....he told me to look into the Fieldenkrais method.

Also, I got a pair of MBT sneakers which r very helpful with balance and using ur core...so this can strengthen ur core and help ur posture....MBT's r a bit costly, but there r less expensive pairs out there too.

I pray u find a way to limit ur pain

Niki so sorry u feel so bad. And starting back to work on top of it.  Umm as far as pain relief I use exedrine migrain.   Now I tak way more than recommended and it dorsn work well but it takes the edge off and allows for functioning and unlike most meds it wakes me up rather than knocks me out.  See what ur doc says though.  I use ice packs and dark masks at night and heat on my back I also use a childs travel pillow and sit in high back chairs when I can to illuminate strain on my neck when ever possible.  Try getting some good insoles for ur shoes too.  Now most of this stuff doesn't not elliminate chiari stuff. It just prevents every day aches from adding to it.    I wish u best of luck. And hope the doc can help u more
