Best of luck with your surgery! I have six weeks until mine. I thought I would send a funny note about things to remember to bring because of an experience my sister just had in the hospital... Her first days she had a roomie that was a very old lady that could never sleep and kept the lights on ALL night and her last two days she had a middle aged woman that her family brought a musical singing and dancing Easter bunny... that according to my sister she played constantly... just a reminder that ear plugs or your mp3 player and an eye mask could be a big help :) Hope all goes great for you!!!
The endo checked for all that stuff... ??? It let up, so I have NO clue! But thank you!!!
Blessings!

Hi Lori
Did you see the post about FM and Adrenal problems...that have to do with flank pain? It doesn't really start out that way...but as you scroll down it kind of gets on that topic!!

Lori, You're in my thoughts and prayers girl! Mine is less than 2 months away so i wont be far behind you! Good luck! Shannon
I just went through an extensive work-up with the Endo... not Hashimotos. I have had problems all my life with my kidneys and urinary tract. I don't have any UTI symptoms at all. BUT the pain I'm feeling, I know all too well. I have had severe bouts with Pyelonephritis and have also had kidney stones. The last time I had a problem was over 6 years ago, which I made the mistake of saying out-loud... and instantly knocked on my head, you know?! LOL! Anyway, the last time, had stones in each... never passed them... thought they just took care of themselves. Wishful thinking perhaps. The left is stronger than the right as far as discomfort goes... but I find it odd that they would both flare at the same time...???
Well, anyway, it has gotten better. Not gone, but faint. I have been drinking water by the gallons and taking cranberry pills. Doc had me on an antibiotic for something else, so maybe that's helped too...??? I had a urine culture and it came back fine, so no pyelonephritis! YAY!!! So for now, I'm not going to worry about it.
Thank you all for your thoughts, wishes and prayers! I can't tell you what it means to me to have all of your support!
Blessings!
Lori
Hi Lori...sending good vibes~~~ and prayers to u and ur surgical staff.
In regards to the flank pain...I think Carolyn has hit it on the head...I had what I thought was bladder related pains....and was finally dx'd with Hashimoto's too....the reason I felt it may be bladder related is bcuz I had bladder infections and even with out an infection I had the pain.....
I agree u should be checked for this as it seems many of us do deal with it .
Good Luck and know I will be with u in spirit : )

Lori...first of all...I am sending you all the healing power...to get you to your surgery date.
Second of all the flank pain...it is really weird that you bring that up b/c my sister and I were having a discussion just yesterday about it. I told her that I had just been dx with Hashimotos and she was telling me that a friend of hers had it and b4 she got dx she was having severe flank pain!! Apparently she was so hypo that it was affecting her kidneys but when they did the tests...the Kidney function tests were fine. After they found the Hashi's and she got on meds...it was so much better. It made sense to me b/c I have been having pain like that too especially on my r side (my worst side) so I just thought it was due to muscle cramps or the pain I get normally. So...something you may want to get looked into when you are recovered from the surgery..
You are in my thoughts..
Carolyn
Sending best wishes your way Lori for a safe surgery and a quick & full recovery.....
