Pain Management using IF/electrotherapy

Hi There

We are trying to manage my husband's pain from his CM without using drugs and so he went to see a pain management specialist who prescribed an Empi interferential current device.  Unfortunately she was no help in telling/showing us how to use it, and neither was the manufacturer.

Right now we are using it trial-and-error style, based on information I've found on the 'net.

Has anyone used this kind of device before? Does it work? Any suggestions on the settings?

Thanks

...a PT sounds like a good idea and a new PM Dr even better...I can not believe they would give u a device like this and not show u how to use it....again, more of the royal treatment...ugh...drs!

I hope so too!  I still can't believe the doc didn't give us instructions.

So far none of the settings have made much difference.  I think I'm going to find a PT on our insurance who can maybe help us.  Or maybe a different Pain Management doc.

Hi...I am surprised that a unit with that much power and no instructions...goodness...I know we have members that use the tens unit, but that is not near the strength as the one ur DH was given to use.

I hope someone here is familiar and can share this info with u.
