Could this be chiari malformation?

Hello everyone I've been suffering for a little over 2 years my neck gets really sore off and on I deal with this constant head pressure and lightheaded spells that make me feel like I'm going to faint I have frequent headaches in the back of my head my vision goes blurry off and on and my memory has been getting worse and worse. I had a MRI of my head around 2 years ago which my neurologist said was ok but I had a ct scan about 2 months ago of my head and it said something about my cerebellar tonsils were extending toward the foramen magnum but it said they are not thought to be extending below the magnum. Should o get another MRI? I also feel short of breath a lot to don't know if it's related to CM. I've had tons of tests for just about everything else with nothing showing up

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

It is possible to have Chiari and not have the cerebral tonsils herniated beyond the FM....BUT many Drs will not consider it Chiari unless the tonsils are 5mm below the FM....The problem with that is Chiari is a malformation of the skull and not the herniation so there could be symptoms and other related conditions that should be looked and and ruled out....but too many Drs do not look beyond the length of herniation.

Do you have a copy of the MRI ?
