Hello everyone,
I went to the nuerologist yesterday, he has me scheduled for X-Rays of the hip, he seems to think that perhaps it could be a nerve that is being pinched as some of my pains on the left side.
He also has me scheduled for a EMG to see just how much nerve damage has been done up to this poin and time.
Today was the day that I sent all of the information to Dr. Oro and his staff, they should get it tommorrow by noon. ( what a project that was) When I was at the Doc's
I went to the imaging dept and they made me a CD of all the MRI's and CT's of my body.
Today is a day off and it went out frrst thing today. I think that he will want to see me - I will keep my fingers crossed till I get the initial appt. date.
Over all things are the same; the pains in my head today are right up there on the 12 to 13 level of pain. The joys of the jolting pain in my head, it made me stop the first itme - the second wave i was ready for and it still hurt. But that is the way it goes...
I aslo have a pain managment appt. today, I will be sure to tell her that the injection has helped some - but I was hoping for more...
Roy
Shane,
Thanks for the infromation, I will look into Basilar invagination.
Roy
Well Roy, as I understand it, arthritis is not caused by Chiari. However a similar condition called Basilar Invagination is.
Chiari is congenital; you were born with it, and over the years your cerebellum has protruded through the opening in your skull into your spinal cord.
Basilar invagination occurs when the top of the spine moves upward. It can cause the opening in the skull where the spinal cord passes through to the brain (the foramen magnum) to close up. Similar effect, different cause.
A lot of other spinal and nerve issues can go along with Chiari, but your arthritis probably isn't actually a related issue.
However, what do I know? I'm not a health care professional :).
Yes I agree ur herniation is a large one.And I am sure the dr can answer ur ?'s.
And Please update us on what he say's I am sure we all r curious to know.
Thank you for the kind words on my DD, yes I am very proud of her....she has danced with well known dancers, traveled all over to dance including Paris,Germany,Venice,Austria and Africa..and Guatemala. She has followed her dreams and is my inspiration.

selma,
My herination is at 1CM at this point of the latest MRI; The pain mangement
doc will see me in a couple of weeks or so. I forget when the appt is for sure.
It is quite a herination at this point, I cheated and read all the things that the doc 's
have said, while I wait for the CD's to get here. I was checking into your personel site and you must be very produd of your dancing daughter, please do not take this wrong, she must be very talented - as well I am sure that you are very proud of all the things that she has accomplished in dance as well as the theature.
I see the nuerologist tomorrow for what it is forth, who knows what it will learn from this project LOL... I will be sure to ask him about this as well, he is so smart in all of this stuff....
Roy
