Saw new family doc for DS

Hi guys,
We saw another doc in same office that we usually go to and she actually spent more than 15min with us. We were with her for an hour. She gave DS a thorough checking, and she accepted all of the literature on Chiari without ignoring it. She is going to go through all of DS's file and all of the literature and call us. She said she has some homework to do and she wants to wait to get Dr. Frim's response back. She said then she will know which direction to go in. DS has developed more swollen lymph nodes, so she is a bit worried about that.
She also agreed that pulling him from public school to reduce his stress is probably a good idea.
I have to chart his HAs and what he has had to eat, or what activity he has done before the HA started.
DS has lost 8lb and she is concerned about this as well as he should be gaining at this age, not losing.
At least she did not disregard anything like her partner did.
When we were checking out the office manager said " don't worry, if anyone can get to the bottom of DS's illness, that this doc would."That gave us some hope that we finally have a doc willing to listen to us and help us.
So just waiting for Doc Frim.

HI Barb,,,the reason I asked is I have a swollen lymp node as well on my shoulder....my Dr said it is  working over time trying to heal my brain,.....lol.....not sure if that was said to appease me or not.

Thank you for your prayers,trying to be patient. The lymph nodes at the base of his head in the back, and she found one under his arm that was swollen as well. I am trying not to get too worked up over it, but can't help but worry. Hope today finds you feeling well.

HI shannon, I think this doc will be the same. She asked if she could keep all that i brought in, and I said absolutely. they are all for you. I think this is start in the right direction. I feel that she also is willing to learn. She agreed that they only teach you a few things about Chiari like the  5mm rule, HA's are only in the back of the head.
I told her there are a lot more symptoms of Chiari like the insomnia thing, she had no idea. Thats okay, until I found my friends on this website, I did not know it either.
This is definately the type of doc I was hoping for. Barb :)

Hey barb! So glad you found this doc! My pcp will tell you straight that he knows very little about chiari, but at the same time he's learning. I print out things and take them to him every time i see him. He always asks "do i get to keep these?" and he always goes and researches more between our visits. He also lets me make a lot of decisions about my health because he says i understand it better than he does. But he's willing to learn and that is important to me!
