Hi....yes, fatigue is very common with ne condition that causes pain......we need to learn  to limit our activities....so we can function the following day.

We also tend to have insomnia....and when we do sleep it is never a refreshing sleep.

Thanks Ladies!!!! I know insomnia always kicks in when my pain is worse. I have to tend to rely on my muscle relaxer to help me get to sleep.

Yes, yes, yes!!!!

I have had sleep issues all my life...and waves of fatigue.

When things got a lot worse I couldn't make it through the day w/o a nap and even after surgery there are many days that I feel that way still.

I rely on the Lyrica to knock me out!!! It seems to do the trick but I still wake up feeling groggy and unrested.

Its an awful feeling having to take a nap every day and then still feeling fatigue. I know I am still healing from the surgery but WOW talk about up and down roller coaster days!

I see you're from Tacoma. I live in Seattle! Can I ask where you had your surgery? And why you had to go back for a second surgery? It sounds like it was not successful??

holy insomnia and fatique.....now granted I'm only a week out of surgery but I still have alot of fatigue and insomnia...it's to the point that the pain meds or muscle relaxers will knock me out. I am still up alot at night when I finally do fall asleep.

I had my surgery in Tacoma, my NS was Dr Anthony Harris through Multicare. He was a great NS very honest and helpful on before, during and post op. But now is been 9 months for my first surgery and I am having symptoms that need to be addressed and not finding much help with the NL in the same clinic much less my NS helping me with referring me out to any other NL. I had my second surgery because the plate my NS put in for support, basically he said my body rejected it and it caused to tear and cause fluid leak. So he went back a month and a half later from my first surgery and took out the plate and seeled the leaks. I healed faster than the first surgery. But of course still have the head pressure at the base of the head and normal CM symptoms that i need help with. I am just doing massage therapy and physical therapy, which helps and some strengthen exercises that I requested myself. I have been doing my own follow up care other than the MRI the NS requests for follow up on the surgeries. Hope that all made sense. :)

I also wonder if u have EDS...since u had a rejection issue....and if u might have ICP/PTC...which can develop after surgery.

When was ur post op MRI?...for the second surgery?
