Hi
Yes it's the same for me, I have been very sensitive to cold for a long time. My feet get very cold, like ice, if I don't keep thick socks and slippers on all the time. If I go out into the cold, get my hands wet or even holding stuff from the fridge causes coldness and pain in my hands. Most of the time in the bath I can't even feel how hot the water is from my ankles to my knees, yet it burns my feet, it's really weird. I get so cold sometimes that the only way I can warm up is to have a hot bath or shower. I am not sure if it is the Hashimotos (autoimmune thyroid disease) or the Chiari or both. Have you ever had your thyroid hormone levels tested?
Selma is right that the bladder issues can be related to Chiari. However, if you have BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia) I don't belive that would show up with a PSA test but could still be causing the bladder issues. You should talk to your DR and rule that one out. The good thing is if you do have it it is fairly easy to fix. A lot of other things can cause bladder issues in men so I just wouldn't like to see you not look into it b/c you think it might just be Chiari.
Take care
Carolyn
Hi...bowel and bladder issues r related to chiari and to some of the related conditions as well like syringomyelia and tethered cord.
This is y it is so important to be seen by a true chiari specialist to see which conditions r affecting u and or causing the symptoms u have.
We also have a tendency for sinus issues as well....we have a plethora of symptoms that can
affect us.....urs may be different than mine, but there is a familiar thread going thru it all.
For me sitting in a draft makes me hurt....I dislike being cold ......I tense up....I also do not like to hold a cold item either...even a cup...I have to wrap it with a napkin.....
