A wreath of purple flowers, with a big purple bow, greets everyone who comes to my front door. Purple ribbons are my favorite things to give in order to raise the public awareness of Chiari Malformation. I gave a purple ribbon to the Federal Express lady delivering tickets to the local symphony that my husband ordered, and my son put one on my mailbox for the mail lady. I am going to visit a local business on a busy street and ask the building manager to turn their fountain water purple. I gave ribbons I had made to my son to give to his three teachers and friends
The thing I am most passionate about is the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America. I will walk with my father and sister in Philadelphia on September 20th for the Walk. Being together in one place with so many kindred souls will be magical!
Those are great ideas !!
Wish I had a walk closer....there use to be one back when I first had surgery and could not go, now I would like to and there isn't one...Philly is too far to go...but if push comes to shove I just may beg someone to take me...lol...
I went to a Chiari Conference and it is an experience to actually meet face to face with others that understand what we are going thru.
Looking for more Chiari awareness ideas...what are you doing?
I would be very interested in learning about conferences. What a wonderful opportunity.
They tend to hold them in July each yr, I will PM you info on next yrs when available....
