Oh I believe u as there r many Drs here that have asked the same thing.....
U can explain to them that a CINE MRI is similar to a reg MRI in that they use the same machine...it is done in 2 parts a reg MRI for the first part and then for the 2nd u come out to get an injection of contrast dye, and a clip on ur finger or leads to track ur BP during this part...instead of still pics, this part is like a video or movie to show how the CSF flows in real time and to see if it pulsates along with ur BP.
Nothing that a Dr claims not to know about Chiari shocks me nemore...
Thank you Selma for replying me. I am still waiting for thoracic MRI, it takes a time unfortunately. And the CINE MRI....they dont know what it is. May be you wont believe me but they asked me what they must do...I was shocked.
Hi...when it comes to if ur Chiari is significant or not it is not the herniation, but how it is affecting u and if it is causing a CSF obstruction.
Have u had a CINE MRI?
Did u have MRI's of the rest of ur spine? This would be to see if u have a syrinx, or tethered cord. A syrinx is one that can cause nerve damage to paralysis...so checking ur thoracic ans lumbar spine is just as important as the cervical and brain MRI's.
