I have seen one Cleveland Clinic NS to date & am not impressed. I will return to his office on Thursday to get his interpretation of the CINE-MRI I had done last week. Then I'm going to ask for a copy of the written report & head to someone else. In his defense however, he is NOT a Chiari specialist, just experienced with Chiari patients. There are several more Cleveland Clinic NS names I have been given who are supposed to be specialists & worth checking out & a few I've beed to avoid. We'll see how the 'on going' search pans out. I'll look up the names on the list of NS's I've started if anyone is interested in them. And lu7997 is oh so right when she advises you to "interview" the NS's you see/talk to. The process of finding a good fit for you personally, is very much like an interview.
During my Chiari research process, I have come across a website for a clinic in Cincinnati OH called the Mayfield Clinic...they claim to be Chiari specialists. Might be worth checking them out being they are closer to Columbus than NY, WI or PA. I think the bottom line is though, you have to go where you are comfortable. Good luck with your search as we have all been there & know it is not an easy or quick process. ***Jean
there is a good specialist at the Cleveland clinic but I have not heard great reviews from them on other patients I had from there. (I am a nurse in Ohio) but I think he was more for children if I remember right........I often don't remember much any more LOL
Columbus has some very well known centers for neurology but I am not sure if any of them have experience with Chiari best thing to do is interview them have all you info in front of you. Ask them questions and if you do not feel satisfied with their answers or knowledge they arent for you and you should expand your search out. : ) good luck
