Now I get it ,thank you for explaining the time frame..heres what she needs to do, if he doesnt take any nap during the day and is active he is pretty tired at 2 year old, he is overtired,.. AJ could use a short nap in the afternoon, then off to bed at around 8pm if he wakes and fusses she has to ignore it , he will go off again but once she goes into his room , gets him a drink, whatever, she is enabling him to be awake if he gets out of his crib she puts him back over and over , no words just actions,,So she lets him cry for a few days , nothing wil happen to him, tell the neighbors get some ear plugs .Be consistant, you taking him for a few days wont change anything it will delay it, act now get him into a routine before the othere baby arrives. Good luck you caring Gran
Thank you for the name of the book. I'll go buy it today for her. AJ is up for most of the day but then at 7 or 8 pm he wants to take a nap. If she tries to keep him up then and put him down at 9pm he will only sleep 3 hours and then he's up again. She tried to get him up at 8;30AM last week and try to turn him around but she is to tired. I want to take him and keep him for a week or so but I don't know if I have the strength to do that.
Thanks for writing back!!
There is no consistancy in his sleep, does he nap all day as that will affect his sleeping at nightIt would be a good idea if your daughter got him into a routine so that he gets up between 7-8am has an early afternoon nap for an hour then bed between 7-8pm or a variation on that. My guess is he is sleeping a lot during the day so he wont sleep at night it will continue till she gets that routine going..He could be playing during the day going to parks , playing ball, getting rid of some of that 2 year old energy. There is a good book out there called SOS help for Parents by Lynn Clark she may find helpful .
