5 yr old bruising herself

hi
my 5 year old step daughter has been bruising herself,  I asked her about it and she said she had bitten it. is this behaviour normal, could she be experimenting or is it self harm? her behaviour has been quite naughty lately and she is talking about violence a lot. her older brother has moved back home at her mums, and her brother isnt a good influence. any thoughts will be much appreciated, from a worried stepmum

She is obviously upset by something, when you say her older brother isnt a good influence what do you mean? is he abusive .how much older is her ? I would definatly get to the bottom of this issue as if this child is being injured or you think she is, it would be best to inrorm the child services and get involved in protecting her .Good luck
