It is indeed hard for a child to adjust to another culture you have my sympathy, so am I getting this right they ask him to zip up his satchel and he doesnt want to ? perhaps it is for the teacher not to be irritated, you could address that with her /himThe teacher, in a conversation, and when your son doesnt like something he refuses to do it ? perhaps you can work on this at home with him also ask teachers to be tolerant as he has just come to this country and everything takes time . You can of course do home schooling should you wish to, I have family home schooled they have done very well. This doesnt sound to me like a medical problem but you could ask advice of your doctor .Settling in takes time , one day you will find the pieces are fitting into place, I am also am Immigrant I am fully assimilated but it did take time ..Good luck
oh and Welcome to America and Welcome to Med Help ...
Thanks for the advice. You advise does relieve me. We had consulted the doctor who said to give time as he has not been to school for quite sometime and has to learn discipline. We can see his development and then decide. But teachers called us again and said we need to look into this.
We did research in all behavior disorders and learning disorders; he does not fit anyone. We have already started working at home. It is less than 2 months and we see a lot of improvement. He is more disciplined at home. Previously he would be more persistent and would want his way but now he listens, he is more patient, speaks, communicates much more. He just has 1-30 in school but he knows 1-100 with little help at 40, 60, 80. His computer skills are good. He finished preschool cds in one day and kindergarten cds in 2 weeks. He wanted to do grade 1 but they were bit tough as he just started kindergarten.
