Just a tic or something more?

Several months ago my then 4 year old daughter would roll her eyes up and kind of stretch out her face, but then it stopped. Now she is 5 and is doing it very frequently except now she also feels the need to constantly move her fingers. Do you think this is just a tic and not something to be extremely worried about? They don't affect her at all. She can be walking and talking, roll her eyes, and act as if nothing even happened.

Hi there.  Well, it could be.  My son does a finger rolling thing that appears to be a tic.  For him, he does it when nervous, worried, over excited.  He also has a vocal tic that he does at the same time.

I would first try to just ignore it.  don't mention it to her or stop her from doing it.  But if it continues, mention it to her pediatrician.

It's hard being a parent, I know, when we see concerning things.  Hopefully it is just her playing around.  But if it is a tic, I can tell you that it thus far has not impacted my son's life.  he's a good student, has friends, plays sports, etc.  Normal kid.  So, try not to let the worry take over and just see what happens.  good luck
