Play Group for Special Needs children

I am considering starting an open Play Group at the local Park for children with disabilities. We have one park in our town that is handi-cap accessible. Would you, as a parent of a child with a disability come? I think it would be a great way to meet other parents that are in similar situations. I am hoping that we can support each other. Some children do not fit into normal play groups. Am I crazy to think this would work?

I have posted this in several forums to get more responses

This is a great idea.  You may want to post some sort of advertisement.  You could call the media for a special interest story, write a letter to the editor or post a flyer at the pediatrician's office.  I'm sure many of these parents feel isolated.  I'm sure you'll be a huge blessing.

Good luck and God bless.

I think that is a fantastic idea. I am trying to start a group where I live for children with social difficulties. Including other children with disabilities is an even better idea. Its terrific.
