Sudden Onset of Daytime Bedwetting

My 7-year old son has been wetting his pants at school since the beginning of this school year.  He only wets his pants at school.  He has been potty trained for 4 years and has had only occasional accidents since being trained.  He is a special education student (mildly mentally handicapped) and is in a self-contained classroom for a couple of hours a day and mainstreamed for the remainder.  There are a couple of students who wet themselves frequently, but these children have been in his class for the past 3 years and he has never had this issue.  I am concerned that either he is wetting himself because the other children do or that there is a deeper issue, although I'm not certain what that might be.

I really need help!  We've tried a lot of things to correct the behavior (reward and discipline) nothing has worked.

How does the bathroom break system work at his school ,check it out ,and also he could be copying the others behavior if that is getting them more  attention, does the school stimulate the children because they have special needs they could do with some special attention, I would say check that out.
