Sleep problems

My 7 year old daughter, who does not have ADD/ADHD is struggling to fall asleep most nights. We have tried soothing bedtime routines, relaxation techniques, & limiting sweets before bedtime. What are the causes of this insomnia & what are some other ways to deal with this? I am extremely frustrated as she come out of her room multiple times each night.

Sometimes you have to get tough what I have found that  has worked is that you take her to bed when it is time  read her some stories, tuck her in ,lots of hugs, outside light if she wants, then leave her, no going in and out, children do get mixed messages and if you arent consistant their clever little brains latch on to it, they know you will go in to them, so if she comes out tell her or take her back, just do it,quietly no fuss, Unless she sleeps in the evening or during the day she should sleep okay make sure she is getting enough outdoor activities and exercise at some time during the day .The first few nights she may still wake but if you just send her back, she will get it and give up.Good luck you have simply joined the sleepless Moms Club.....LOL
