Concerned and Angry

I caught my 4 1/2 year old daughter smearing poop all over my bathroom counterside, toilet, and bathtub tonight. She acted as if she did nothing wrong but she knows that it is very unsanitary and poop can get you sick. The thing is she has always been my angel child and I could have never imagined something like this happening this late in her little life..I mean I could understand a baby or toddler even doing something like this but an almost 5  year old that goes to school and knows the rules?? I really just need someone to tell me if this is going to be a major problem or just something that some kids go through or what I did wrong for this to happen. I am so distraught over this and don't know what to do about it. I have already disciplined her for leaving toilet paper on the bathroom  floor with poop on it  before and she has done it again except this time it was alot worse..I hope you can help me with some kind of an answer..Thanks

Yes, any changes or new things going on ?  I know it's distressing... I guess that's one thing I haven't been through, but I've been through many other things.

She sounds upset by something, could anything else be going on , any changes in her life, new sibling, change of house, school, any family matters ?
