Unsure - anxiety, deficiency, aspergers?!!??

My daughter is 8 and in a very methodical manner licking her hands, fingers, wrist and now has added her arm! She doesn't even know she's doing it until she catches me giving her the look. She then gets embarrassed about it. She can never give me a reason for doing it. She claims she doesn't know. She is doing exceedingly well in school with grades and friends. She is very shy around adults. She doesn't do any other odd things with the exception of constantly eating ice, which also concerns me. I do not know if I need to take her to counseling or doctor for some kind of deficiency?

I agree with Rockrose, you definitely need to get a medical opinion.

Yes,  I think you hit the nail on the head about a deficiency.  Chewing ice is a red flag symptom of anemia,  and apparently licking of "non food items" in children is also a symptom of a vitamin or mineral deficiency.
