Thats the trouble with different doctors, the communication gets lost. Not much can be done about that except to make sure that YOU tell them everything.
Google all the meds that the new doctor prescribed or talk to the pharmacist to find out the side effects. I like his point about her being stressed out seems like the doctor has a feeling for kids. Watch the wheezing part and if her temperature suddenly goes up - get her back to the doctor FAST!
- hope all goes well! Best wishes!!
One of the medications does make her sleepy, we stopped giving it to her and her doctor prescribed a different medication that does not make her sleepy, either way she still end's up sleeping during the day. We took her into another clinic yesterday and the doctor prescribed alot of medications and he's not so sure why she has lost her appetite.
He said that he heard somewhat of wheezing, she has asthma on and off. The doctor said it could be related to that and it's just making her feel so over whelmed and she turns right over to sleep. Thanks for the help! I think we got it though. I checked in on her today and my mother told me she is a tiny bit better.
Thank you, Its sounds like it is all related to the recent sickness. Is she still on any medication - over the counter or perscription? Some antihistamines can make you very sleepy and decongestants can take away your appetite. Decongestants can also make you kind of hyper and make it hard to go to sleep at night, which will lead to wanting to sleep during the day. Some medications have both types in them. Typically, when you go on antibiotics, the doctor will check you two or so weeks later to make sure they worked - has this happened?
My niece is 8 yrs old. I took her to the doctor on the 1st of t his month which was saturday. They said she was fine, then later on tuesday morning my mother took her to her dr again, they then told her she had an ear infection and yes they did give her antibiotics... however, it didn't help. So then come Thursday night my mother gets home from work and she wanted us to take her to the ER and so we did. The doctor said that the medicine they gave her wasn't the correct one. She missed school the week of May 3 - 7. The teacher told my mother she wasn't doing well on May 12. So really, it's all been from May 1 till present.
How old is your niece? What date did you take her to the doctors? I assume you took her to the doctors with the ear infection (when was that), and then again later? Also did the doctor prescribe antibiotics for the ear infection?
did she miss the whole week of school from May 7th to the 15th? not sure of your dates. When did the teacher say she was not doing well? Before the ear infection or after?
Did the teacher say that this is a recent problem?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get an idea of the timeline here.
