my son will not eat

My son just turned 3.  He used to eat a balance diet.  But about a month ago, he decided to limit the food to cereals, water and Goldfish crackers.  He refuse to drink milk and Pedisure.  I afraid he does not have protein intake, so I force him to drink some whey protein using a medicine drop.  I also give him 2 gummy bears for calcium.  If I give him foods other than cereals, water and Goldfish, he would split them out, thrown them and cried for hours.  I'm so frastratued and don't know what to do.  Any helps will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jen

He wouldn't eat that stuff if you didn't give it to him. So don't give it to him. He will get hungry and eat what you set before him, because he will have no choice. By the way, the gummy bears for calcium confuses me.

well juice and water is good , have you done as I said with the post from jen  put the childs food down on a plate at the table and left them to eat themselves ,it may be a good idea to have the Doctor check him over, for any hearing or speech problems , we have a speech Forum here on MH .With regards to his behavior towards his younger sister he may be jealous so make sure he gets as much attention , also get Dad involved playing games with him, give him one to one time so he still feels important ..good luck

Do you let him feed himself or do you feed him, it is also possible by force feeding him you have created , unwittingly, some anxiety about eating. Try putting finger foods in front of him then instead of trying to pursuede him to eat leave him to it, let him have control of eating himself.Sometime out of concern Moms over try,to get their child to eat and it works the opposite way, same with his drink put the cup down and leave him to it. Many nice finger foods out there, goldfish can be given with some small pieces of cheese, grapes cut up, banana, raisins, bits of chicken for protein, beans, rice, pasta , they make lovely shapes in pasta now for children , ravioli..fish sticks, nuggetts ..Good luck .
