on line sex games

I just found my 9 year old grandson playing on-line sex games. I was shocked, but kept calm and asked him how he´d found that site. He told me he couldn´t remember. I didn´t want to make a big issue about it, so I just told him to play the games he usually does. My sex life was really frustrated by my mother who always told me it was dirty and I don´t want him to feel it´s something bad. He begged me not to tell his parents because they had already caught him and told him not to play those games and he had now dissobeyed them.and they would punish him. I told him I wouldn´t, but I feel I should inform them, maybe not today for him not to feel betrayed. He was really upset and I asked him how he found those games, he said a friend at school told him how to find them. I told him I could understand the curiosity he felt, but that he was still young to understand those sort of games that older people sometimes play. Please give me some advice in case it happens with any of my other grandchildren and if what I did is alright?

A simple solution to most child computer use problems is to keep the computer in a room commonly used by other members of the family. A living room, for instance. That puts the kibbosh on unhealthy surfing and relieves mom and dad detective duties. Of course, bans should be in place anyway.

Well, you just don't stumble across those games.  So he either has an older brother or a friend who has clued him in.  And, frankly, at his age I am not that sure that they are a healthy(?) way to get an idea of what is going on in the real world.  I would make sure that the site is blocked on your computer.  And perhaps suggest to his parents that they should look into limiting his access to certain areas on the home computer.
