my 11 year old son strange behaviour

Hi, I am at my wits end, my 11 year old son is saying he keeps looking at men, women, girls and boys, but looking as he puts it in the wrong places (genital area), my moms boyfriend died recently and i think this has had some effect on him, we took him doctors this morning and he is seeing a psychologist this friday 2/5/2014.
He is a normal lad and he wants it to stop and the poor kid is under so much pressure from it, i feel so helpless as his dad, im trying to be there for him and tell him it will all be ok, he is panicking he might be gay but they havent done sex education yet?

Hi thanks for your reply, me and his mom sat him down an hour ago and spoke with him, i decided it was time he knew about the birds and the bees, positive result, he was so relieved and said he wanted to ask us all what we told him but was to scared to,
He says his mates at school keep talking about different stuff and my son hasnt a clue what they talking about, he`s an only child where most his school friends have older brothers or sisters.
Still keeping appt with psycologist though.

I think taking him to see a psychologist is a good step.  I wouldn't be concerned with his sexuality.  I tend to believe that kids, especially in adolescence, or exploring their sexuality and may not have a true understanding of their own sexuality or gender preference as many life experiences and stressors can affect sexuality.  Be less concerned about issues of sexuality on more on getting him help for any emotional issues.
