How did you get your due date?  Please be specific.  If it was from an ultrasound, at what week of pregnancy was the ultrasound?

If the ultrasound report says that you were 11 weeks 2 days GA on July 12, that would suggest conception on May 8.  The due date of February 1 would suggest conception on May 11.  Neither of those is far enough from May 3 to rule out the guy then, given the long life of sperm in the woman's system and the rather late point in pregnancy of the ultrasound to be used for dating a pregnancy.  (The best ultrasound for dating purposes would be in the 6th or 7th week of pregnancy, not the 10th or 11th week.)  I assume you are saying the sex on the 3rd was unprotected?

Your boyfriend has the better chance, you just can't rule out the possibility of the other guy completely.  Do you have any ultrasounds earlier than your 11th week?

Have all these ultrasounds been from the ER, or did you get any of them (such as the 8w0d one) from your regular ob-gyn?  The ultrasound from June 19, if reliable, suggests a May 8 conception date as well.

Spotting does not come from conception.  There is a prevalent myth that spotting can come from implantation, but I have never read a credible story from any woman that it did actually happen in fact.  Given that you had lots of sex with your boyfriend after May 3, it is likely that your cervix got bonked by his penis during the sex and was sensitive and bled a little.  The timing would rule out implantation bleeding on the 6, 7 and 8 even if it weren't a myth, because your ultrasound data shows that the conception was probably on the 8th, and it takes more than a week after conception for an embryo to shed its shell and implant (which is when so-called implantation bleeding would occur).

If you did conceive on May 8, the chance of the pregnancy being from sex on the 3rd is low but not zero.  And, of course, your boyfriend had more chances than Mr. May 3.  Have you had the ultrasound that indicates the baby's gender yet?  If the baby is a boy, it would also tend to suggest Mr. May 3 is not the dad.

Look up the Shettles Method for gender selection.  It has not been scientifically proven, it is more of a theory, but lots of people try it.  If your choices are someone whose sperm might be 5 or 6 days old by the time you seem to have ovulated, and someone who had sex with you the day you might have ovulated, if the baby is a boy, it might indicate that the one whose sperm was 5 or 6 days old was not the father.  When you look it up, though, read up on how 'proven' the theory is, it might not be.

No, it is not 99% sure at all.  For one thing, the Shettles method is a theory, and theories aren't "sure."  For another, you haven't really said whether you got any of these ultrasounds at a regular ob-gyn or if they were all at the ER, but you've only got information as good as the ultrasounds were.  If they were at the ER, you don't really know for 99% sure if the sex on the 3rd was 5 days before ovulation.

Your story generally suggests the second guy has a better chance than the first guy, but there is not enough information to be 99% sure.

moonlove809, was the ultrasound you had in your 8th week at the ER or at your ob-gyn?  I don't ask to be fanciful, it goes to the question of the quality and reliability of the ultrasound information.

I think you said you had your July 12 ultrasound at the ER, and that it said you were at 11 weeks 2 days.  (Or was it done at your ob-gyn?)

Both of the ultrasounds (from 8th week and 11th week) suggest a May 8 ovulation, not May 3.   Are you looking at the actual report when you're giving the dates and the gestational age?  Do any of them name an estimated due date?

You went to your ob-gyn today, August 14, and he says you're 14 weeks 2 days -- was that from doing an ultrasound?  Did he have access to your prior ultrasound results?  (14th-week ultrasounds aren't that reliable for trying to date a pregnancy, because over time after the 12th week there is a +/- 7 day margin for error, and in your case you need to know with a much less than 7 day margin for error.)

It sounds like the guy on the 8th has a better chance than the guy on the 3rd.  But if the guilt will end up killing you, you might as well tell him.  I've never been a fan of women trying to keep this information a secret their whole pregnancy.  Then the two of you could consider getting a prenatal DNA test and the question will be answered.

i don't have regular periods so when i put it up on the computer its said ovulation day was on the 3rd of may  , but my dr just checks the baby and doesn't really even give me a printed out ultrasound he just looks on the screen and tells me 14 weeks and 2 days i think that im going to the er and see if they can give me a better idea of how far

moonlove, the reason I keep asking you where you got your ultrasounds is precisely because you should *not* go to the ER for ultrasounds if you plan to use them to date the pregnancy.  They are not in the business of giving you precise answers, they are in the business of treating emergencies, and their ultrasounds certainly cannot be relied on to split the difference between May 3 and May 8.

If you don't have the information from your earliest ultrasound, or if the earliest ultrasound was from an ER (you still have not answered my question about this, and I am not asking you about it for my health -- only if that was an ob-gyn office ultrasound can you fully rely on it), call your doctor and lay out the whole problem, and tell him or her what you have figured so far and why, and see if he or she can help you figure it out.  No more going to the ER to try to get this info.  It won't do you any good this late in your pregnancy, you need precision and some decent medical analysis.

The one from the hospital that you said was 8 weeks 0 days, did they give you an estimated due date then?  You still have the issue of the early ultrasounds telling you a certain number of weeks that compute back to a May 8 conception, but sometime someone told you that your due date is February 1, which would suggest conception on May 11.  Were you given the due date of February 1 later in the pregnancy?
