My daughter and boyfriend experienced "dry sockets" after having dental surgery. Both experienced high levels of pain that they have not forgotten! I suggest you call you dentist's emergency number to avoid 2-3 days of excrutiating pain!
I just had a bone graph done 24 days ago and up until about 2 weeks ago i had drainage that was the worst thing i have ever tasted and it started right after my post op about a week after the surgery (i felt and i was told everything was healing wonderful at the post op). i would get the taste when i would drink, eat, or apply any pressure near the area whether i bumped it or just even stretched the skin from yawning or moving my mouth a certain way. i talked to my doctor when they were taking the stitches out and he said a little bad tasting drainage is completely normal. finally i had that load off my back. but now i'm worried cause i think i have a gum infection (i dont know if that taste was a symptom of the infection) i believe with thrush on my tongue and some type of bump with liquid in it on my gums. if anyone can tell me wat might be wrong that'd be great i think my bone graph is failing which my doctor said may happen if i dont stop smoking cigs for 3 weeks after. i was told its crucial to stop and i honestly havent even made an attempt to so i dont know if thats the problem or wat? someone please help
