I never told my mom I felt depressed, and I never got help.. I can understand you wanting it to be the right time, just don't do what I did and feel afraid to be honest about whatever is going on in your life. Because waiting makes it more difficult to come out and say it, trust me.
Yes, but I don't want to put my mom under more stress. She went to the hospital because all her stress was building up. She had IVs, morphine. Now shes on anti-depressants and I don't know that I could put more stress on her. At least not for a while.
I understand that, and that's all the more reason to talk to her about it. She too knows how it feels and she will sympathize with you and feel happy and proud that you came to her. If she's depressed as well she will know this isn't something you're choosing to experience and that you can't help these feeling.
Well, theres always the school counsler as well, they would help you get this figured out! You need to act on this as soon as possible! But I am positive your mom would want to know if her daughter wasnt feeling right. She would want to help you make things better. Please dont wait to long. Its good you have told your best friend, but maybe you can ask her to help you out with this.
You should talk to your mother about this. From there, you should speak with your primary health care professional and have them help formulate a plan.
It is normal to be somewhat depressed when your parents divorce. There are so many emotions floating around and you/we tend to suck them all up and take them as our own.
Unless your friend is responsible for your health care, mom needs to know first then you can tell your friend, after you have a plan in place. (Better than that, your friend doesn't even have to know.)
My mom is on Anti-depressants herself because shes going through divorce and I'm not sure she would be happy that I'm depressed. Plus, she tells people about stuff like this and I hate people showin gsympathy and my family is commanding and they start yelling when something like this happens. I'm just concerned
I've told my friend and shes told me to get help and I'm not sure I'm comfortable telling my mom just yet. I might wait a while. Thanks for your feed back. I threw out my blade. Thanks :)
I can promise you one thing. Your mom will not be upset with you if you tell her you are depressed. She will be happy that you came to her.
I think you should tell your mom before anybody else. trust me, your mom would want you tell her! You need to sit down with her, and explain to her that you feel depressed, and you think you should go to a doctor to be further observed. If you feel more comfortable with telling your best friend though, thats okay. You could ask her to help you talk to your mom! If your completely uncomfortable with bring up your situation to your mom or your best friend in person, then you write them a note. But please tell somebody. And please try to stop cutting, i do it too and i am trying to quit as well. The scars will never go away, i still have scars from when i first cut myself when i was 10. I would show you a picture of my arms, just so you can see how horribly ugly they are but it would be a little inappropriate to upload a pic i think.
Please tell SOMEBODY!!hang in there and take care! Keep us updated!
