So sorry to hear about your difficult time treating your depression. It does sound strange that in just 5 years you could have given a good chance to every anti-depressant known as well as combinations of meds. It takes time for them to work and then absent any intolerable side effects, they should be increased further before moving on to the next one. And why have you changed to 10 doctors in 5 years. That's an average of about 6 months for each doctor. That is hardly enough time to give any one doctor. I would find a good psychiatrist, not a regular doctor, and stick with them through a decent amount of time to give the meds a good try. There are combinations of meds that only a good psychiatrist knows how to prescribe. And have you tried an MAO Inhibitor? I bet not. I don't think that you should give up on the medications. And yes a therapist may be able to help you as well. You do have a good attitude that will help you. Wish you the best.
We will support you as best we can here. We are people you can talk to who understand what you are going through.
I have had depression for over 20 years, but it did not start until I was a lot older than you.
I am so sorry your young years have been spent dealing with depression. I do hope something can be done to alleviate your problems. Well done for fighting so hard.
I presume your family are supportive and you can talk to them. Have therapists been no good?
That is a lot of different medications in your young life, if you have tried them all. Why do you keep changing your medication?
You sound really strong, and I believe because of your fighting talk you WILL get through this. I do hope doctors can find something to help you.
