New to this

I have PTSD and anxiety. And for awhile it wasn't bothering me...i was dealing with it. But now, it seems like everything is getting messed up. I do not take medication for my problems..for a couple reasons. One, my old doctors couldn't find anything that helped..and i got tired of trying meds. They either made me crazy or i felt drunk on them. I have delt with alot of my anger that I had..and changed alot. I am very proud of that fact. But lately it seems like maybe I am punishing my boyfriend for everything that has happen to me. I don't want to do that. But I lash out and cant seem to control it most times. I know he doesnt deserve it..he tries to help me all the time and is just so patient. I just dont know how to beat this w/o meds. I cant afford therapy or any doctors visits. So does anyone have some tips?

Here's a link to another thread where someone is facing a similar problem, where to get affordable therapy:

It is outrageous how hard it is to get affordable therapy! And it's a shame, because in the long term, it is much more of a help than medication.

What I've done is take advantage of student health services while taking classes at university. A school usually has a minimum number of credits you can take to make you eligible to use student services - at the state school I was attending, it was five, which is just a little more than 1 regular class. I found that it was worth the cost of taking classes just to have counseling...

I'm not sure whether community college offers those kinds of services...

Another option would be to look for an experimental study to participate in, one that would give you access to therapy... But that might involve medication.

There might be some discounted therapy programs available... Google 'til you can google no more.

If I were you, I would do whatever I could to get therapy. It is immensely helpful.
