Self harm stain

My question is a bit bizarre. My friend is very worried because she recently lapsed into self harm again, and she decided to heat up a brand new blade with a lighter, and it went black. This was a while ago now, and the wounds have healed completely but there are black lines stained into her skin!
She said she's done it before but usually it bleeds out, and now she is worried it is a permanent tattoo, does this sound possible?

I don't need any advice on her self-harming habits please, and I'm not condoning it.

I just haven't been able to find out anywhere if this is a permanent stain or not!

It's a stain from the blade being heated up and turning black from the heat. Like charcoal I suppose, which is what they used to use for tattoos in some old cultures =S The lines are super thin, needle-tip thin, where the wound has completely healed. It's just tattood there, but she said that it happened before and it washed/exfoliated away. Scary. Anyway, I wasn't expecting a miracle answer. Just wait and see I suppose, poor thing. Tsk tsk.
