Hi, I have depression but my biggest problem is sadness.
however as I have posted on the 'bipolar forum' my 38 yr old son has BP and after the anxiety comes the MAJOR DEPRESSION....he too has tried many AD'S and is now on mood stabilizers and antiphysotics...and is on the way to stabilizing.
all that said....no matter how under control his symptoms are he lives always with '[self hate'.I should mention this man could be a model, he is very handsome and an extremely good personality....but he says all the personality is a mask at too how he really feels he goes overboard to appear that way.........he is uncomfortable in every situation and feels inadequate and a fake...all because he 'hates himself' and he tells me he has felt like this since as far back as he can remember.
He hasn't found a way to cope with it yet and any help anyone can post here would be most welcome
You don't mention that you have tried therapy. Antidepressants should be used as a band-aid to help get you in a position to deal with the problems that led you to seek antidepressants in the first place. Antidepressants will not make your problems go away. The only way to really begin to overcome your issues is by talking about them and working through them in therapy. Have you been in therapy before. If so, what was your experience with it?
