Cut skin on shaft - healing as a trench, not flat

Hi. About a week ago I cut the skin of my shaft while trimming the hair. It is healing as a trench, with a divot in the center and raised edges.  It is not flat like a normal cut on normal skin at all. It is very unsightly and a bit painful.
Is there anything I can do to mitigate this?
Thank you.
