Odd flat sunken area grape-aized

Hello,
I have a totally odd sunken area on the skin near my wrist.  I have asked my rheumatologist and primary care physician if they have ever seen anything like it.  Everyone id baffled.  The best way to describe this is this:  is looks like a thumbprint, sunken area, skin has a shine like a healed birn scar.  But I never had a burn there,.   Right now  t looks slightly purple-ish, most often it is shades of pink.    I do not wear a watch, or bracelet  on that wrist so it isn't that.  But is is sunken in enough that people ask about it.  It isn't ringworm or molluscum contagiosum, however, tthe skin inside this depressed thumbprint has a smooth shine   It almost looks like  like a burn would because the inner surface has a shine like damged skin and scars,  I have has this sunken area for over a year.  PLEASE help?

The same EXACT spot appeared on the outside of my upper right arm! It's about 1/4 of an inch sunken in, like the tissue has just degenerated.  It's the size of my thumbprint, has a slight sheen, like a burn scar. Sometimes it's an ashy gray, then other times its a pale pink. It doesn't hurt or itch. My doctor was baffled and said its a mystery where it came from but he was pretty certain it's nothing to worry about. He asked me to come back in three months (which will be this Monday) to see if it has changed. The spot hasn't gotten any wider or deeper, as far as I can tell; however, I noticed earlier today that there are black hairs around and on it now. I don't have those hairs on my other arm and I'm positive they weren't there before. I know it's been several years since you posted about this, but could you fill me in on what happened or what you found out about your spot?

My aunt has a place like this on her hip.  Look up morphea or scleroderma.
